Vienna Walzer Orchestra

HISTORY

During his first years in Vienna, Sandro Cuturello created the idea of an international orchestra consisting of foreign musicians living in Vienna. In this way, the musicians would have the opportunity to both perform and bring their international musical backgrounds to the orchestra.

Before implementing this idea, it was necessary to secure financial backing for the Vienna International Orchestra. This was achieved by giving concerts and organizing other events in 1990. On his birthday in September, 1989 (before starting the Vienna Walzer Orchestra in 1990), Sandro Cuturello entered a print shop in downtown Vienna with a folded draft.

Although the draft was crumpled and torn, the following three words were clearly legible: "Vienna International Orchestra". Only three words, but they stood for an idea, a dream which Sandro Cuturello willed to come true, even at this early point in time. The maestro's plan was to maintain the Vienna Walzer Orchestra for 5 years. Notwithstanding the orchestra's success, it took 10 years (until 2000).

Mr. Cuturello began three additional projects in 1996, 1997, and 1999, the Orchestra di Venezia in Venice, the Praha Mozart Orchestra in Prague, and the Millennium Orchestra Romae in Rome. This was a kind of adventure. Cuturello enjoyed professional satisfaction, achieved great experience in his field, met numerous musicians, was involved in culture, and made many friends - it was simply exciting.

In December of 1998, and January of 1999, he began extensive, international concert tours. Based on the four existing orchestras in Vienna, Prague, Venice and Rome, and on concert tours to China, Korea, and Japan, Mr. Cuturello created Culturell' Events as a hub for combining administration and management functions. Between 1998 and 2000, Culturell' Events organized more than 400 concerts per year! Culturell' Events has its main office in Vienna and branch offices in Venice and Prague.

Furthermore, Culturell' Events has worldwide business connections with partners in New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Peking, Moscow, London, Madrid, and Rome. Due to the great expenditures and the efforts involved, Culturell' Events decided to fall back on its original plan, to withdraw from managing seasonal concert series locally and implement a new business philosophy in 2004, concentrating on traditional performances in classical concert series throughout Europe and the world.

Culturell' Events is presently focusing its activities on classical music management, featuring artists and performances of the highest professional quality.

Culturell' Events' present financial situation allows it to shift its focus to exciting, new projects featuring excellent international artists.

In conclusion, we are proud to announce the formation of the new Vienna International Orchestra.
