Vienna International Orchestra
With the beginning of the new millennium, professional musicians from various countries created the idea of concertizing without boundaries. The concerts were to be organized by an independent institution.
With the help of modern media, such as the Internet, e-mail, and chat, people from different countries and different political systems have the possibility to communicate and work together incredibly fast. However, up to date there was no religiously or politically independent, homogeneous institution that would provide solutions for social problems, as well as relay human values through music.
In times of growing political and economic cooperation ("globalization"), it is imperative to find ways to overcome international political and religious differences. In this multi-cultural and cosmopolitan expansion, and to implement integration, it is not only important and justified, but imperative to create a professional, international orchestra.
Aside from the musicians' different ideologies and various national backgrounds, this project is best implemented through common identification with the music. This way, the performing artists identify and live with their work, thereby magically attracting their audience.
Also, this model will facilitate mutual approach and coexistence in problematic regions of this world. There is no better instrument to avoid or lessen such problems than an orchestra whose members are of different nationalities, religions, and ideologies - making music.
The orchestra's repertoire comprises renowned literature from baroque to contemporary music, with a strong interest for less-known folk music. The orchestra would like to perform in every country of this world.
